Become a Member!

Memberships range from 8 hours a month to 35 hours month. They allow you access to the studio, tools, and glazes between the hours of 6am and 10pm! Your pieces are fired when the kiln is full and set out for pick up or glazing once cool!

Memberships also grant you access to pop up sales where you can sell your own work, member events, and all tools/in-studio glazes. :)

You’ve Got Options

  • We allow up to four co-working memberships per month. This allows you access to the space and wifi from 6am to 10pm (unless there is an ongoing class).

    Co-working spots are in the front room, where our retail sales and pottery painting occur. It’s pretty quiet, but customers do occassionally come in.

  • This is our most comprehensive membership, designed for the maker wanting to create a larger amount of items. Available to up to 3 individuals.

    Open studio hours are 6am-10pm and the studio is accessed via personal key codes. These hours are occasionally altered by classes and workshops.

    We are closed on Wednesdays.

    Membership includes:

    • Up to 35 hours of open studio time

    • Two shelves for work in progress

    • $25 discount on all classes and private lessons

    • Access to four studio glazes

    • Access to recycled studio clay

    • Dedicated storage cubby

    $300/month

  • This is our most popular membership, designed for those wanting consistent practice multiple times a week.

    Open studio hours are 6am-10pm and the studio is accessed via personal key codes. These hours are occasionally altered by classes and workshops.

    We are closed on Wednesdays.

    Membership includes:

    • Up to 20 hours of open studio time

    • One shelf for work in progress

    • $25 discount on all classes and private lessons

    • Access to four studio glazes

    • Access to recycled studio clay

  • This is our simplest membership, designed for the maker wanting to dabble a few times a month.

    Open studio hours are 6am-10pm and the studio is accessed via personal key codes. These hours are occasionally altered by classes and workshops.

    We are closed on Wednesdays.

    Membership includes:

    • Up to 8 hours of open studio time

    • One shelf for work in progress

    • Access to four studio glazes

    • Access to recycled studio clay

FREQUENTLY ASKED Q’S

  • Our studio provides access to 6 clays by Kentucky Mudworks: Iceman, Speckled Turtle, Eklhorn Red, Sheltowee, Brown Bear, and Roo. These can be purchased by the bag for $37-41 per bag. This includes your firings (2).

    If you’re buying clay to use in your own studio at home, you can purchase it for the standard price, which is $10 less. :) That does not include firing here at the studio. Firing privileges are for members!

  • Yes! We welcome other clay bodies, but it must be approved ahead of time to make sure it is compatible with the kiln.

    You may supply your own clay that can be fired to Cone 6. (Please note, there is a difference between Cone 06 and Cone 6!) If you do, there is a $20 firing fee per bag.

    We recommend Portland Pottery Supply! They’ll help you pick the right one!

  • Yes! We do resale of Kentucky Mudworks Clay bodies including:

    • Elkhorn Red

    • Roo

    • Speckled Turtle

    • Iceman

    • Sheltowee

    • Brown Bear

    We can special order mid-fire porcelains or high-fire bodies as well. The price of clay depends on the body.

    You can purchase it by the bag (25 pounds) in a range of $28-30 per bag.

    Porcelain, of course, is a little more expensive.

  • Yes! We offer Amaco glazes and underglazes by the pint. If you’d like to special order anything, we can place that for you.

    Pricing depends on the glaze and typically ranges from $23-$50 per pint.

  • Yes, as long as the glaze is approved! We fire to Cone 6 (not to be confused with Cone 06).

    If your glaze is a mid-fire glaze, you’ll be all set. Just let us know what it is before you use it.

    We also have six studio glazes: clear, white, teal, matte blue, avocado, and yellow.

  • Nope! We’ve got the basics covered. If you need anything fancy or want your own tools, then yes. But in our studio we have wooden and metal ribs, trimming tools, sponges, wire tools, and wooden knives along with an assortment of hand-building and sculpting tools.

  • We are an 18+ membership studio with the exception of the occasional kids class. You may sign up if you’re a minor, but you will need a responsible adult joining you. That adult does not need to book a class spot for themselves if they don’t want to participate, but they must be present with you whenever you’re using your member hours. It’s just a liability thing.

    We do accept ages 10-17 if there is an adult present

  • Yes and no. If you’re an artist member, you’re assigned a cubby where you can leave your tools and clay.

    Other members are responsible for taking their tools and clay home.

    The clay vessels you’re working on can absolutely stay at the studio! We have special shelves where they dry and one of those shelves will be labeled with your name.

  • Nope, but great news, Birdie’s is right next door! Catch them while they’re open (usually 11am-8pm Thursday- Sunday) and enjoy a delicious beverage or grab-and-go snack item!

  • Hours do not roll over! Your count starts over at the start of every new cycle. If you start your memership on the 8th of the month, your hours reset on the 8th of the next month!
