KIDS Summer Programs!

Heya!

Summer is rolling around and with the chaos of summer activities, camping trips, and bonfires, there’s also the chaos of having kiddos around the house all day. While our studio is catered to adults, we have a few options for kids this summer, whether tradtionally schooled or homeschooled. We are also an EFA vendor, so EFA students are able to use that funding for art classes with us!

So what to do with kids in Gorham, NH?

There are some fun new options for kids classes this summer. I have the regular wheel class, but I've also added a hand-building class. This is a great introduction to clay! One of the hand-building camps is open to age 7-12, so if you have a 7-9 year old, this is their chance to get in the studio. :)

☀️5-week hand-building - THURSDAYS @ 1:30-3PM

(starting June 5) - $225 {ages 10-17}

Kids will learn how to form pots using hand-building techniques! There's not much of a learning curve with this class, so some kids like seeing those more immediate results! It's a great intro to clay, but does not include wheel throwing!

☀️5-week wheel throwing - MONDAYS @ 1-2:30pm

(starting June 2)- $225 {ages 10-17}

Kids will learn to throw on the wheel. This one has a steep learning curve! It can be challenging for kids to get used to the new body mechanics, but it's new and exciting in a way that hand-building isn't always. Limited to 4.

☀️"Wheel Camp #1" - M-F @ 11:30am

(June 23, 24, 26, 27) - $175 {ages 10-17}

one week, four days! Kids will throw on the wheel on Monday and Tuesday, trim their pieces and make any fun attachments or carvings on Thursday before painting their pieces with underglaze designs on Friday. Final pieces are ready for pick up in about 3 weeks after the class ends. Limited to 4.

☀️"Hand-Building Camp - Pre-Teen" - M-F @ 3:00

(June 16, 17, 19, 20) {ages 7-12}

(I've had a lot of interest in classes for littles, but there are tools used in classes (and the wheels themselves) that just aren't great for little hands and bodies. Not to mention, operating in a workspace where other students and members have very fragile things out drying can be tough for little bodies to manage. With the studio catered to parents and other adults, we cannot accommodate tiny bodies. :( Thanks for understanding!)
